Happy Holidays to all!

Well I can't believe it's the middle of December already! Besides the traditional joys of the season, our family has an extra special reason to celebrate. Our son just got married! In Venice, Italy! Isn't that the most wonderful, romantic adventure! I cannot wait to see and scrap the glorious pictures from their incredible journey.
I have been busy working, but managed to enjoy a little time crafting and wanted to share some projects I have completed. So here's a little video of just a few of my latest playthings.
I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season.  Now back to work on some wedding layouts, joy oh joy!

Starting a new album

So exciting! Our wonderful son is getting married! To an amazing young woman, and we couldn't be happier.

So here's to the start of a new scrapbook album. I pulled out all my favorite papers, ones I had been hoarding for something special. How perfect that the beginning to this beautiful new family would be that something! Of course the chance to make this first of many new albums for my son and daughter-in-love is so inspiring. I can't wait to start the actual wedding album!

The titles on these pages were cut with the new Cricut cartridge by Teresa Collins, Sophisticated. It's loaded with great artwork and these wonderful phrases, just perfect for page titles. After cutting, I embossed the titles, using Lindy's Stamp Gang's great Caesar's Gold embossing powder. Their powders are so wonderful, using subtle multiple colors and incredible sheen. I love using them. Well, back to scrapping!

Hugs and have fun!

Have you seen The Color Room?

I added a blinkie on the top right of this blog that you simply must click on.

It will take you to a great, truly incredible group of artist and inspiration. I have been struggling with a "look" for the wedding album I will be doing for my son and new daughter-in-love. And this site, this wonderful, lush site was the magic I was looking for.

Be sure and stop in, join in one of the challenges if you are braver than me. and be amazed by the sheer artistry of these ladies.

Have fun!

The year is going so fast...here's the start to my holiday crafts!

Well, most everyone is having fun, planning for Halloween and creating exciting, fun works of heart. Not me, I skipped right over Halloween, even though I love the fun, and am starting to make my Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts.

Here are a few pictures of the Vintage Holiday Tags I made for Lori's swap for "thescrapbeach" ning site. If you are not already a member, be sure to stop in and see all the fun going on. Lori is an incredibly talented member and has lots of great tutorials. You'll love her youtube channel, which is: klipngirl. Her swap "on the beach" is listed under Swaps Galore and is the Vintage Christmas Tag Swap.

One of my favorite things about youtube and the ning sites I love, are the challenges and inspiration I soak in. The latest one I am looking forward to is an idea of Sue on her yt channel: sue7777000. Her idea is for everyone to make a mini, with the cover being a "window" looking into a toy store or Santa's workshop. Sounds cute, and I can't wait to get started!

Well, I hope you and yours have a fun, safe Halloween and if you find you just have toooooo much chocolate, just give me a ring and I'll be glad to take it off your hands. After all, can anyone really scrap without chocolate? Have fun and please, keep sharing your creativity with us all!

Hugs,
Molly

Enjoying the journey

Well it has been too long since I last posted. The weather has turned cooler, the days are magnificent, absolutely glorious and I have been playing with my stash of fall papers to stir up the creative juices.

I have a new mini album I am playing with. A hybrid style perfect for holding loads of pictures, mementos, calendars and all important "lists".
These are just the start...I can't wait to get started embellishing. Oh the joy! The paper line I highlighted in this mini was Tim Coffey's Tuscan Sunflower. Had to have it, stayed up hours, scouring the internet to find it and am sooooo glad I did. It is beautiful!

Well enough rambling. Please take a moment, enjoy the fall and feel the stir of emotions building, anticipating the upcoming family holidays. Take alook at my newest mini and let me know what you think.

Have fun scrapping!

Sue's Fall Mini

Well I think I actually felt a nip of fall in the air! After tropical storm Lee came thru the days were clear and the sky was gorgeous with color. The temperatures dropped out of the high 90 degree range and the cool breezes put me in the mood for fall.

I am doing a mini album swap with a wonderful youtube friend and we chose Fall for our theme. We both love the rich colors, cooler days and the sentiment that the changing seasons bring. So here are just a few pictures of where I am so far on this mini.

Sue's album is one of a twin set I am doing. I am doing a gatefold out of the same papers and love both of them so far. The papers are from K and Company, the collection is Alleghany Plum. Lots of Lindys Stamp Gang and Prima laces and flowers help trim them out, plus lots of goodies from my stashes.

So Sue, I hope you enjoy the sneak peek! And to everyone else, here's to a wonderful fall!

Hugs,
Molly

Having fun with Lindy's Stamp Gang

Having fun spraying laces and flowers this morning with loads of Lindy's Stamp Gang colors for my fall minis in progress.

The colors I used are: Gator Gumbo Olive, Bougainvellea Fuschia, Jazzy Jivin' Purple, Tibetan Poppy Teal and Canna Lily Burnt Orange. All of which go so perfectly with the K and Co. paper I am using.

You may notice I am spraying on wax paper. I used to spray in a box, on craft paper I had recycled from shipments I had gotten. Now I spray on wax paper, so the Lindy's doesn't absorb and I can "sop" the overspray up with seam binding or small trim pieces. Voila! Wonderful dyed to match trims to go with the flowers and laces. Thanks Pat!

Well back to playing! Have fun scrapping...

A fall mini ( actually two) in the making

Well, despite needing to keep an eye on tropical depression Lee heading toward the Gulf coast, I am in the mood for fall. I am so excited to be starting on two fall minis, one for me and one for a very special youtube friend.

Featuring the beautiful papers from K and Company's Alleghany Plum papers, the colors are rich and deep and touched with metallics and glitter. Just absolutely yummy.

While this paper line is not new, I first saw it on a year old video from Kathryn, of On the Scrap Beach. I had to have it and spent days hunting it down on the internet. Just so darn happy to have found it, I bought 2! They were all I could find.

So, I have the bare bones begun, say that fast three times, lol. Now I am off to find all my embellies, flowers, stamps and fibers and get back to play!

Have fun scrapping!

My beautiful mini from Esther....

I hope you will take a minute and enjoy this beautiful mini I received from Esther. It is awe inspiring...and I am so blessed it is mine!

My wonderful swap from Esther!

Well hello - I am still so new to blogging and am trying to learn how to do even the most basic of things.  So I thought I would try uploading photos and slideshows by starting with the very best!

This is a mini I received in a swap from a wonderful crafter on you tube:  Esthercrafts!  Esther asked me to swap with her and I was so honored and worried that I would not be able to make her something she would like.  Well, I sent my little mini off to her and received back the most glorious mini I have ever seen.  She listened to what I said I would like and she created an absolutely perfect mini!

I am relatively new to swapping and one of my fears is that someone would receive something I made and not like it - or it not be a fair exchange to both.  Well this is that fear come true...  I did try to make Esther a mini she would enjoy, with the colors she wanted and the feel of her European vacation.  But despite my attempts to ensure an even exchange of talent, she outshown me by a mile.

I am so overjoyed to have received this mini, AND the bounty of flowers and charms and embellies she sent.  Esther, from my heart to yours, thank you for this wonderful family heirloom.  I will treasure it always!

Much love,
Molly D

Well Hello everyone! This is Molly....

I am so excited to have launched this new blogsite!  I have seen and enjoyed some wonderful sites and wanted to give it a whirl...so here goes.

It's the first of September, and I've been up most of the night watching youtube and checking in "on the scrapbeach" and getting so inspired to create some fall minis for myself and a few friends.

The only problem I ever have with watching youtube is: the wonderful minis I see showcased on videos may have been created over a year ago.  Then I find myself spending hours scouring the web for just that paper, or just that piece of lace or flower, when I really want to just let go and enjoy the creative process.

I had just that problem, watching a video from Kathryn, from the scrapbeach, and had to have just that paper, K and Company's Alleghany Plum.  I'll attach a link to Kathryn's video and then show you what I have created so far with the paper line.

So here's to all the wonderful crafters I have been inspired by "on the scrap beach"  and in "your paper pantry" and of course, on youtube!

Enjoy!
